Meg, a servent, tells the story of her mistress, Anne Boleyn. As a yount woman, Anne Boleyn captured the heart of King Henry VIII. Determined to marry her, Henry wanted to annul his marriage to Catherine of Aragon, but this was not simple. The Catholic Church did not permit divorce, and the Pope in Rome refused to help King Henry. Desperate, Henry VIII broke his union with the Catholic Church and created a new religion. The furious Catholics held Anne Boleyn responsible. Anne became Queen, but couldn’t give Henry a male heir. Soon, she discovered that a king’s love comes ando goes, with tragic consequences for her.
